My work in Britain was one of a dental surgeon, so I had the privilege of studying my patients’ faces and their many moods.

For portraiture this has, I feel, given me the advantage of familiarity in this fascinating genre, although the lighting and mood is of paramount importance for a worthwhile portrait.
